Gunpowder Wines may have begun in one valley, but it has been moulded by many.
Old World Foundations
Our story was forged among the ancient vines of the Rhône Valley — where steep terraces, mistral winds, and centuries of tradition taught us the discipline of structure and restraint. There, we learned that wine is as much about patience as it is about power. Syrah grown on schist slopes. Grenache rooted deep in galets roulés. Wines built not for a season, but for a lifetime. Wines forged with a new lifelong connection - the Fabre Family of Domaine des Romarins in Domazan, Côtes du Rhône.
From France, our path led south to the dramatic mountains of Holden Manz, Franschhoek in South Africa. In that rugged beauty, surrounded by Cape Dutch architecture and sun-drenched vineyards, we discovered generosity — bold fruit, expressive aromatics, and the art of blending intensity with elegance.

A Return to Home Soil
The journey eventually led us home to the rolling hills of the Hunter Valley — one of Australia’s most historic and respected wine regions.
